Inquiries
For sponsors who want to commission a reference work, and authorities willing to curate one.
For sponsors
A Bartley sponsorship attaches an organization’s name to a definitive reference in a domain that matters to its mandate. Each sponsor is named on the edition’s colophon and homepage credit. The relationship is disclosed openly; what the sponsor receives is durable association with a work that keeps growing under the curator’s standards.
Sponsors come from two directions. Practitioner-stewardship sponsors — tool vendors, foundations, and standards bodies — underwrite a reference their working community depends on. Fluency-audience sponsors — industry associations, certification bodies, executive-education programs, and institutional buyers — underwrite a reference that helps decision-makers entering the domain operate in it credibly. Both archetypes are first-class.
Three ways to engage
- Underwrite an existing edition.
- A sponsor comes alongside an edition already in the catalog as a named supporter. The work is proven, the audience is forming, the path from inquiry to public credit is short. The first edition in the catalog, a structural reference for agentic coding, is open to sponsorship now.
- Commission a new public edition.
- A sponsor identifies a Body of Knowledge in their domain that deserves a definitive reference and asks the imprint to build it. The first sponsor may nominate the curator. The edition joins the public catalog under the Bartley imprint and is maintained for as long as the engagement supports it.
- Commission a private edition.
- Internal documentation, a technical-systems knowledge base, or a working reference that stays inside the organization. Same engine, same standards as a public edition. The work ships under Bartley Editions or white-labeled to the sponsor’s own brand.
For curators
The imprint is interested in authorities whose judgment in a domain is independently respected and who are willing to lend voice and editorial direction to a living reference work. The Bartley engine handles the editorial labor that has historically made serious reference publishing the work of a career. The curator’s role is judgment: what enters the corpus, in what shape, against what standards. Curatorship is term-bound; successors inherit the audience and the corpus together.
What makes a body of knowledge worth a Bartley edition
The imprint takes on domains that are diffuse, advancing, and in need of focus: knowledge scattered across many sources, a frontier that outpaces conventional publishing, a practitioner population reading in fragments where a structural map would serve them — and increasingly, a population of decision-makers being pushed into the domain who need that same map for orientation. If your domain reads that way to you, the imprint wants to talk.
